Discover the importance of corals and our method for preserving their future. Then, you’ll have the chance to get your hands dirty and help us nurture your own coral recruits. Your Visit What to Expect When you register for a Coral Workshop at The Coral Nursery of Puerto Rico, you can expect to: Discover the importance of corals - Learn our signature restoration method - micro-fragmentation - Create and mold “coral mounds” for our corals to live and be out-planted on! - Make friends and have fun! And so much more! About the Nursery Our land-based nursery designed & engineered by the Plant a Million Corals Foundation, is the only self-sustaining, satellite Coral Restoration Unit (CRU) to date. Our waterfront facility houses 6 restoration tanks, each of which houses up to 4,000 corals at any given time. Location The Coral Nursery is located in the beautiful oceanfront community of Palmas Del Mar. If you’re looking to spend the day in Palmas, enjoy the beach and a bite to eat at one of the local restaurants. Frequently Asked Questions What should I bring? In addition to your tickets, we recommend bringing a water bottle and sunscreen, as it can get hot working with the corals at certain times of the day. What if I need to reschedule? If you signed up for the Coral Workshop, but need to reschedule, just shoot us a message and we’ll be happy to accommodate. Do I have to touch the corals? Only if you want to. We understand that everyone has different comfort levels, so do not feel pressured to do anything you’re not comfortable with. If you want to learn about corals and our restoration process, but don’t want to touch the corals, that’s totally fine by us.
