About the event

The International Coastal Cleanup Day sponsored by the Ocean Conservancy Organization will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022.  In Puerto Rico, the Scuba Dogs Society  has registered 204 Captains with an objective to CLEAN, LEARN and EDUCATE by taking on this mission and will have thousands of volunteers register for this event and perform clean up tasks along the coasts, beaches and other bodies of water. The Coral Nursery is joining this cleanup for International Coastal Cleanup Day, but will continue this mission through hosting monthly cleanups moving forward! Working together we can create SERIOUS impact!

Palmas Del Mar with the support from Live & Life, the Wyndham Palmas Resort and PHA will make this a great experience. Through last week we had 22 registered volunteers. We want to max out at 60 volunteers. On Saturday, Sept. 17th we will do the following:

Register at the meeting point in front of the Wyndham between 8 and 9 am.

I will impart instructions and then all volunteers will start the clean up from 9 and return to the meeting point by 11.

Reporting results of the clean up will take place between 11 and 12 noon.

We will distribute white bags for recyclables, black trash bags and red bags for any biowastes.

We ask you to bring, non disposable reusable water bottle (you can refill at the registration desk), wear proper shoes, gloves, sunscreen and your cell phone with the Clean Swell app.  Please note the pieces picked up from the coast need to be logged on the Clean Swell app or on paper forms available at registration.

We will divide up in five groups along the coast and we will clean from the Plaza del Mar beach area all the way to the Candelero River mouth near Marbella Club.
